Important update to BankID Norway signing
Our BankID Norway provider is making changes to how digital signatures are issued and validated.
BankID is moving to a new certificate setup (CA) starting 8th of April 2026.
During the transition, signatures will no longer appear as "Qualified" (eIDAS-approved).
Your signed documents will still be valid and secure, but you may see warnings in PDF readers (e.g. “certificate not trusted” or similar).
This happens because the new certificates are not yet included in standard trust lists.
What this means for you:
Signatures remain legally binding and unchanged.
Some systems may require updates (trust settings) to fully recognize the new certificates.
We are monitoring this change closely and will ensure a smooth transition.
To avoid unqualified signatures, ensure you have migrated to new solution before April 8th.
Deadline for migration is extended till 15th of May, 2026.
